To all athletes, parents, teachers and coaches involved in the School League.
This is a reminder that being safe while playing waterpolo is important. Creating a fun and safe environment for all athletes is always our number one priority. Although sport encourages competition, that does not mean that this is done at the expense of safety and fair play.

Waterpolo is a contact sport, which means that contact with other athletes does and will occur. It is very important to remember that each athlete is responsible for their body’s movements, and ultimately responsible if any
body part contacts another athlete.
There have been discussions regarding the topic of rough play this season. As we move through the remainder of the season and beyond, the referees will not tolerate any overly physical play, especially concerning contact around the head and neck area and there will be zero tolerance for any extra physical contact; whether this is pushing or pulling of another athlete, grabbing bathing suits or messing with anyone’s bathing suit, including bathing suit zippers. If this behavior is witnessed during play, kick outs will be enforced, and even expulsions if deemed necessary.
Safety is our number one concern, and we want to create an environment where everyone can play safely and have fun.
